One ski area, hundreds of assets to manage
Managing a ski area the size of Les 2 Alpes means coordinating hundreds of critical assets every day: ski lifts, snowmaking, building heating, third-party services, electrical networks… Without a suitable tool, this data remains scattered and unutilized.
To address this challenge, the SATA group chose to deploy DAT'Mountain, DATIVE's IoT hypervision solution, initially at Les 2 Alpes — with planned expansion to l'Alpe d'Huez, and subsequently to La Grave.

+300 connected assets, 97% of consumption monitored
The deployment at Les 2 Alpes demonstrates the practical applications of DAT'Mountain in the field:
+300 connected assets: sensors, meters, and PLCs continuously integrated
97% of consumption monitored: from the resort to buildings, accommodation, and third-party services
+30 active daily users: operations, maintenance, energy, ESG, management, catering…
+100,000 € saved through intelligent control of heating and utilities across the entire resort
These results are the outcome of a methodical approach: connecting existing infrastructure, centralizing data, setting up intelligent alerts, and enabling teams to operate with a comprehensive and reliable view of their infrastructure.
Intelligent management changing daily operations
Beyond the figures, the shift in operational workflow is significant. SATA teams now benefit from a unified view of their installations within DAT'Mountain.
As a concrete example: on the glacier's inclined elevator, de-icing is now triggered automatically. The platform regulates the heating to reach the optimum temperature (12°C) for melting snow before intelligently reducing power consumption. This automation model, scaled across all substations, DGPT2 protection relays, doors, fire alarm panels, and ski lifts, generates substantial savings while ensuring equipment availability.
The resort can also precisely re-bill electricity consumption to each powered infrastructure using precise metering — a capability particularly valuable for resorts with multi-entity structures.

A field deployment carried out with SEIREL
At l'Alpe d'Huez, deployment is carried out in partnership with SEIREL, a subsidiary of the GERARD PERRIER INDUSTRIE group and an expert in alpine electrical integration. The SEIREL teams handle the field installation of sensors, meters, and associated equipment — an essential step to ensure measurements are accurate and reliable across the resort.
This combination of DATIVE's software expertise and SEIREL's technical field expertise enables rapid, robust deployments designed for alpine conditions.
Do you manage a ski area and need to optimize your energy consumption or equipment availability?
An initiative extending across the SATA group
Based on the results achieved at Les 2 Alpes, the SATA group is accelerating the rollout of DAT'Mountain across all its resorts. The objective is to eventually manage all assets of the three resorts via a single platform for more precise, sustainable, and resilient operations.
This type of progressive deployment is precisely what DAT'Mountain was designed for: beginning with critical assets, continuously integrating new sensors, and scaling up supervision as requirements evolve.
DAT'Mountain: the reference platform for ski areas
DAT'Mountain is DATIVE's IoT solution dedicated to the supervision and management of ski resorts. It covers all installations: ski lifts, snowmaking, energy production, buildings and plant rooms, groomers, and the environment.
Robust, interoperable, and engineered for high-altitude operating conditions, it helps operators improve the availability, safety, and energy efficiency of their networks with measurable results starting from the initial weeks.
