Are you looking to control your consumption, your costs, and comply with your obligations (CEE, ISO 50001, BACS decree)? By combining Carlo Gavazzi sensors and meters, the Dupline fieldbus, and the DAT’Power energy management system, you can transform your site data into clear dashboards, relevant alerts, and effective decisions, for a tangible return on investment.

Industrial context and needs

On your industrial site with multiple Significant Energy Uses or "UES" (electricity, compressed air, gas, heat), the priority is to quickly obtain reliable energy performance indicators or "IPE" by UES, identify anomalies, and convert them into €/day to prioritize maintenance actions. The DATIVE approach consists of leveraging your existing equipment (meters, pulses) and supplementing only where relevant, without replacing everything. In this context, the native integration of Carlo Gavazzi gateways by our DAT’Power Energy Management System or "SME" DAT’Power simplifies the connection and accelerates commissioning.

Even meters or sensors from different brands can be integrated without complexity, thanks to their exchange tables (Modbus RTU or TCP/IP) created during the initial setup.

Monitor as a priority: IPE by UES, anomalies converted into €/day, night baseload as a proxy for the compressed air leak rate.

Proposed solution: DAT’Power, Carlo Gavazzi meters & sensors for enhanced energy management of your plant

Technical visit and metering plan adapted to your industrial site

We conduct an on-site visit, establish the metering plan, and identify the highest-value implementation points (electrical sub-metering, gas/water/heat pulse recovery, compressed air flow/pressure).

Our DAT’Power solution natively integrates your Carlo Gavazzi gateways, which allows for the rapid ingestion of existing communication data. If you already have Carlo Gavazzi equipment installed, we supplement as needed with compatible components to expand measurement coverage.

Target IPEs: kWhelec/Nm³ for compressed air, m³ gas/kWh heat for the boiler house, kWhelec/production data from your ERP for electrical UES.

Contact our experts and schedule a technical visit to your site.

The main advantage of DAT’Power, compared to basic monitoring software, lies in the richness of information and flexibility: display in euros, advanced alerts, plant schematics, and tracking by consumption point.

Funding and budget study with CEE premiums

Before any deployment, we verify the eligibility of your project for the CEE framework IND-UT-134, dedicated to systems for measuring and monitoring energy consumption.

This step allows for a direct comparison of eligible premium amounts with the total investment cost (sensors, gateways, installation, software integration).

In practice, a customized estimation is carried out: it evaluates your total capex against the potential financial aid to secure your investment decision and speed up budget validation.

Installation partnership for your site: the strength of the Gérard Perrier Industrie Group

For your instrumentation, electrical, and automation needs, we mobilize the teams of our Gérard Perrier Industrie Group for on-site deployment, coordinating with your energy, maintenance, and IT departments.

Deployment on your site: concrete steps

1 - Instrumentation and data acquisition for your site

We leverage the Carlo Gavazzi gateways already installed on your site to immediately send information to DAT’Power. Depending on requirements, we add DIN rail meters, pulse concentrators, or appropriate pressure/flow sensors. The Dupline fieldbus can simplify cabling in difficult zones; a private LPWAN network such as LoRaWAN covers remote areas. This "integrate first, supplement later" strategy limits installation works and accelerates value generation.

Our meters & sensors with DAT’Power communicate directly via Modbus TCP/IP, or via 3G/4G modem if the client does not wish to expose their network.

2 - Integration of your production and monitoring data in DAT’Power

The integration of field data is generally based on standard Modbus TCP/IP or OPC UA connections.

This native compatibility allows for the automatic collection of all energy measurements (electricity, gas, water, compressed air, heat) without custom development. The exchange tables are clear, documented, and adapted to each IT/OT environment, ensuring smooth integration with your existing monitoring systems.

If you already have a centralized tool (SCADA, BMS, ERP, Power BI), DAT’Power functions as an energy analysis layer. Data streams can be imported via files or APIs in order to link production indicators with real energy consumption.

The calculated IPEs are then homogeneous and comparable from one UES to another:

  • kWhelec / Nm³ for compressed air,

  • m³ gas / kWh heat for the boiler house,

  • kWhelec / production data for electrical UES.

Data can be visualized directly in DAT’Power, or sent to client tools — Power BI, for example — for complete and clear visibility over consumption.

Explains Frédéric Barberousse, Distribution Manager France & South-East Sector, Carlo Gavazzi

3 - Setup of your customized dashboards

Once the streams are integrated, dashboards are configured according to user profiles:

  • Management: consolidated view of costs, performance monitoring, and automatic conversion of energy anomalies into €/day.

  • Energy Manager: tracking of IPE by UES, detection of anomalies and baseloads, multi-energy visualization.

  • Maintenance: access to historical logs, equipment status, alarms, and prioritization of interventions.

The alarm thresholds and monitoring schedules are adapted to your production patterns (day/night, weekday/weekend).

Each view is customizable to enable responsive and shared control of anomalies, while remaining legible for all site operators.

4 - Training and change management support

Your deployment concludes with a functional acceptance test conducted UES by UES: verification of measurement points, testing of alarms, validation of IPE calculations, and data consistency. Your key users (energy, maintenance, production) are then trained in reading and interpreting indicators, threshold management, and updating the metering plan.

This training ensures long-term adoption and enables your teams to monitor energy performance over time, without technical dependence.

Expected results and benefits

Once your DAT’Power platform is deployed, you have a clear, consolidated view by UES and by process, allowing you to immediately identify anomalies and translate them into financial impact.

The compressed air baseload, often invisible previously, becomes a tracked metric measured in €/day. Energy anomalies are detected earlier, and investment decisions are faster and more data-driven.

DAT’Power also facilitates compliance with ISO 50001 standards, energy sobriety plans, and CEE tracking. Gains are measured both in the stabilization of IPEs and in cost reduction, as well as improved coordination between energy, maintenance, and production departments.

Future developments and next steps for your plant

Control and automation of your industrial site

Beyond energy monitoring, DAT’Power can control simple loads such as lighting, ventilation, or auxiliary machinery, using its integrated dry contacts and configurable scenarios (occupancy, time schedule, temperature conditions, etc.).

This allows for the setup of a lightweight BMS, completely complementary to existing plant monitoring systems, without additional complexity.

Integrating the Dupline fieldbus over several kilometers is simple and scalable. It allows adding inputs/outputs or automating specific programmable functions for data acquisition and building automation according to client needs.

Frédéric Barberousse, Distribution Manager France & South-East Sector, Carlo Gavazzi

Your platform is therefore a scalable tool: initially focused on measurement and analysis, then progressively expanded to control and automation – leading to a native transition to our DAT’Process industrial SCADA.

Predictive maintenance for your installations with DAT’Process

The logical next step to energy monitoring is predictive maintenance. By connecting DAT’Process to DAT’Power, teams can correlate load / no-load states, temperatures, vibrations, or pressures on critical assets (compressors, AHUs, heat pumps, etc.).

This approach allows for earlier detection of mechanical anomalies, scheduling interventions at the optimal time, and preventing costly unscheduled downtime.

Discover how DAT’Process can optimize the reliability of your equipment.
