Discover how La Clusaz is reducing its carbon footprint and optimizing its operations with the innovative DAT’Mountain solution.

In the face of climate change challenges, ski resorts must adopt innovative strategies to reduce their carbon footprint. La Clusaz has chosen to rely on the DAT’Mountain solution, developed by DATIVE in collaboration with SEIREL, to improve its energy management while providing a quality customer experience.

Ski resorts facing the climate challenge

With the climate emergency and the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, ski resorts like La Clusaz are turning to sustainable solutions. The goal: to achieve carbon neutrality by optimizing every aspect of their operations.

La Clusaz's strategy for a sustainable future

La Clusaz has adopted a two-pronged approach to reduce its environmental impact:

  • Reduction of emissions through the use of renewable energies (ENR) and biofuels.
  • Energy sobriety by optimizing available resources, i.e., doing more with less.

Innovation in service of ecology: DAT'Mountain

To support this transition, DATIVE and SEIREL have collaborated with La Clusaz to develop DAT'Mountain, a monitoring solution specifically designed for ski resorts. This tool allows:

  • Measuring and collecting key data (energy, weather, attendance, engine health).
  • Analyzing this information via intuitive dashboards.
  • Continuously improving operational processes.
  • Ensuring an optimized customer experience while preserving the mountain environment.

Focus on technology: LoRaWAN

One of the main strengths of DAT'Mountain lies in the use of the private LoRaWAN radio communication network. This system allows:

  • Rapid installation of autonomous sensors with a lifespan of up to 10 years.
  • Reliable radio coverage with just a few antennas capturing signals up to 20 km away.
  • Secure and encrypted connections, ensuring data confidentiality.

Results: La Clusaz reduces its carbon footprint

Since the implementation of DAT'Mountain, La Clusaz has achieved significant savings:

  • 13% reduction in energy consumption over two seasons.
  • Increased team engagement around ecological goals, with lift operators challenging themselves on eco-driving indicators.
  • A network of 300 connected objects enables optimized decision-making based on real-time data.

Towards new horizons with DAT'Mountain

The collaboration between DATIVE, SEIREL, and La Clusaz does not stop there. New use cases are already being developed, such as the monitoring of the artificial snow network or remote control, to continue pushing the limits and achieving La Clusaz's CSR objectives.

Industrial Compressed Air Optimization: The Guide

Compressed air is an essential resource for many manufacturers. Used in a wide range of applications-from pneumatic tools to production line automation-it’s often considered the “fourth utility,” after electricity, gas, and water. However, it’s energy-intensive: according to the French ecological transition agency (ADEME), compressed air can account for up to 10% of the electricity consumption of an average industrial site. In some sectors, this share can even reach 30%. Optimizing energy consumption related to compressed air is therefore a key lever for improving overall performance and reducing operating costs. In this article, we’ll explore the challenges of compressed air, key performance indicators, and solutions to improve its energy efficiency.
